TOUGH MUDDER RAISES OVER HALF A MILLION FOR CHARITY
Tough Mudder, the leaders in obstacle course racing, has made a remarkable impact on its charity partners in 2024, with generous entrants and supporters raising a total of £566,000 for the four charity partners Macmillan Cancer Support, Mind, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK).
Headline charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support has been a standout beneficiary, with an impressive £193,000 raised through the Tough Mudder and Spartan partnership. With 302 participants fundraising for the charity in 2024, the average donation per participant was an enormous £749, underscoring the generosity and commitment of the Tough Mudder community.
The incredible participants of Tough Mudder also went on to raise a staggering £86,000 for Cancer Research UK, with the average donation reaching an impressive £700, showcasing not only their physical endurance but their unwavering commitment to supporting a cause that affects so many.
Other charities included Mind, the mental health charity, where Tough Mudder participants raised over £200,000 in total with the average donation per participant sitting at an impressive £332. In addition, Alzheimer’s Research UK raised over £84,000 in 2024, with an average donation of £362 per fundraiser. This reflects the growing commitment to supporting highly emotive initiatives with donations reflecting the demanding physical challenge these participants have put themselves through for a worthy cause.
Earlier this year, Tough Mudder partnered with next gen fundraising platform, givestar to become the official fundraising platform for its events. This collaboration created a seamless connection between event registration and fundraising, encouraging more participants than ever to support meaningful causes close to their heart. Thousands of charities are connected to the platform meaning entrants can fundraise directly for any cause while being encouraged to raise important funds for connecting charity partners. The givestar partnership is set to continue through 2025, with both organisations working together to champion even more inspiring charitable efforts worldwide.
"Tough Mudder is incredibly proud to support such meaningful causes and to see our participants go above and beyond to make a difference," said Matthew Brooke, Senior Vice President of Tough Mudder. "This year’s fundraising totals are a testament to the dedication and passion of our community, and we are thrilled to have helped raise such significant amounts for Macmillan, Mind, Alzheimer’s Research UK, and other amazing charities. We look forward to continuing to work together to create a lasting impact."
Tough Mudder’s continued partnership with these charities highlights the importance of community involvement in fundraising efforts, proving that every obstacle faced on the course can lead to a powerful impact in the real world.
